Arrange a meeting with your bank or mortgage broker prior to house hunting. Obtaining pre-approval can accelerate the approval process and provide you with a clearer understanding of the total costs associated with buying a home.

Utilities & Insurance
After the conditions are lifted, you may proceed to set up your utility account and home insurance to start on the day you take possession.
Lawyer Appt
Before taking possession, you will meet with your lawyer to sign necessary documents, pay your down payment and property taxes (if not included in your mortgage), and review any aspects of the purchase contract that may require attention.
Possession Day
The purchase agreement specifies when you will access the property, and you will receive your new keys after the seller’s lawyer receives the payment.
